FIBER: VERY IMPORTANT
YOU CAN DIE WITHOUT ENOUGH FIBER
My aunt went on a diet years ago, drinking protein drinks but not eating fiber, she ended up in the hospital and died, they tried to save her but it was too late, not enough fiber.
You need 25 to 30 grams of Fiber daily (most Americans get only 17 g)

You should eat an Apple a day (Pears are better being a higher pH by one step) and some Cereal or Beans for FIBER . Add to these essentials, any type of Vegetables or Fruits, and some grains (whole grain bread, brown rice).
There are 2 types of Fiber
Good for intestines, and cleans the liver and blood. Sources: Oat Bran & Rye
Good for lower colon. Sources: Brown Rice and Wheat Bran.
Many foods which are high in fiber contain both types, soluble and insoluble Fiber. Eat apples, whole grains, and vegetables.
GET A VARIETY OF FIBER
Apples & Pears
Figs & Dates
Cereals, Breads, Bagels
note: Brown Rice and Beans are what is termed a "complete protein". You don't have to eat both every single day, you can have rice on one day, and beans on another.
I eat lots of Brown Rice and some Wild Rice. Brown Rice is much healthier than White Rice (many Orientals call brown rice "dirty rice" and don't eat it in favor of white rice, but scientifically, brown rice is much better for you.
As far as Beans, see my article on DIET as to which Types of beans you should get, as per your blood type. For instance, blood type O should not have Kidney beans, I am blood type O, and I love Kidney beans, but oh the gas. So please do check out the list regarding what blood type you are.
