WAITING by Will Chris Holley
-

You are waiting
-
And while you are waiting, there are many things you could be doing, to pass the time while you are waiting.
-
You could watch TV and see other people living their lives so you don't have to.
-
While I am waiting, I prefer Music (listening or playing) and Non-Fiction  (reading or writing).
-
I have joined online Dating Clubs, wrote many women and waited, but only a few wrote back, and they did not want to meet me now, they wanted me to wait.
-

When you go into a doctors office, the doctor will make you wait, and if you have an appointment, you will have to wait even longer.
-
We all have to wait our turn, in various lines, for various reasons.
-
While you are waiting, you may get the urge to eat.  Eat to live, not live to eat.  Eat what you need, fiber, protein, vitamins http://www.archure.net/salus/healthmenu.html
-
While you are waiting, we want you to be Happy  http://www.archure.net/salus/bhappy.html
-
At work, you are waiting till your work day is over.  Before work you are waiting to go to work.
-

I went to this night club, in the hopes of meeting some lady, and I waited, but none were interested.
-
While I was at the night club, atop a tall hotel casino, I looked down and saw all the cars waiting for the lights to turn green, bet they can hardly wait to get home, or where ever they are going.
-

I used to be a cab driver.  Me and all the other cab drivers (all the other cab drivers and I) would wait in long lines, sometimes an hour or more, just to get a ride.  A few times, after waiting an hour for a ride, the customer would say "I am waiting for my baggage, it will be just a few minutes", in the mean time the cabs behind me would fill up and leave.  But sometimes it was busy, and I would pull into a hotel casino and see a long line of customers waiting for a cab.  That's because (and people used to ask) there are a fixed number of cab drivers, often, at certain times of the day, no one wants to go anywhere, or they just would prefer to walk, while at other times everyone needs to be someplace right away, and they can't just walk.
-
If you go to the DMV you will have to wait in line, to get in the next line, where they will give you a number so you can wait to be called.  .
-
The more you wait, the longer you wait, the greater respect you show for those you are waiting for.  The DMV and Doctors (and my Mom) are all telling me, they are of the up most importance and status, as they keep me waiting the longest.

One day I checked my answer phone machine, and my Manager left a message to "not under any circumstances are you to return to your job assignment, do not go back, do you understand?, call me at 9 am in the morning" (my Security Guard job, for a private gated community, what could be wrong?), but when I called at 9 am, he was busy, I was told to call back in the afternoon (I usually sleep then, it was already past my bedtime), well I called back in the afternoon and was asked to call back the next day.    Me and my top 1% IQ and honor grad education in Electronics, Robotics, and Computers, was blamed for "tampering with the gate" at the private gated community, I begged an pleaded, it was a false accusation, and it really was.  I could not convince him, but because I begged and pleaded, he reassigned me to guard a construction project at a hotel casino theater, where they are re-wiring everything, with mainframes and servers and construction equipment, all just lying around all night, while I wait.  Daylight come and I wanna go home.
-

I called my mom (Mothers Day), she has been staying at a friends house for a few months.  But my mom didn't answer, so I left a message and waited all day.  That night I called again, she had been in all day, but went out for just a minute, that's when I must have called, right as she was out for just a minute, and she didn't listen to the answer machine, because she was waiting for me to call.
-
I have 3 Associate degrees (electronics, computer operator, music) and a trade college Bachelor (robotics), all with a good GPA, and my high IQ is in the top 1%, I am around 50 IQ points above Average IQ (which is 100 IQ, which is 25 points above mentally retarded 75 IQ).   I submit my resume and wait.  I have been waiting for years, waiting in a taxi cab, in line with other taxi cabs, and more recently waiting all night long for my Security shift to end, so I can go home.
-
So every once in a while, I get a call regarding my resume which I sent by fax or e-mail.  They have been just waiting for someone like me.  So an interview is arranged, I get there early and have to wait.  Its now time for my interview but I have to wait some more.  This is a very important company, an important job.   Finally, they call my name, and say, "sorry to keep you waiting, it will be just a little while longer".    So after a long while, they call me again and usher me into a room, where I am to wait to be interviewed.  Eventually I am interviewed, they ask to see my resume (which I already sent to them. that's why they called), I hand them a hard copy of my resume, they slightly crease it just a bit, and or get a slight smudge on it, then after viewing it for around 20 seconds, they hold on to the edges of the corners, so as to not mess it up some more and hand it back to me and thank me for waiting, but they are looking  for someone else, I am either too qualified, or not qualified enough.  So they carefully hand back the slightly creased, smudged resume, so I can re-use it on my next interview.  How thoughtful.

My mom used to take me to restaurants here in Las Vegas before she moved back to L.A., and we would go early, like 6:30 or 7:00 pm so we would not have to wait.   We would arrive to an empty restaurant, and have to wait because they are busy setting up.  While we would wait, I would look at the menu.  Then finally they would seat us, but warn us that the table is dirty, and please wait till they clean it.  They would clean it and ask if we were ready to order our food, but we had not decided, so they had to wait.
-
Then more people would arrive at the restaurant, just as we were about to order, so we had to wait while they seat the other customers.  Then the waitress would make the other group wait, as she had to take our order.    I would order something "Vegetarian OK" and my mom would say "DID YOU GET SOMETHING VEGETARIAN?", and everyone around would stop talking and stare, and someone would drop and break some dishes in the back room.   Then eventually everyone would get served, while we had to wait, and eventually everyone else would pay their bills and leave while we were still waiting, then after several inquiries and a list of reasonable excuses, our food would be served, with all the other customers now gone.    Then we would have to wait for the check, then wait for them to take the check and money, it was a long wait.

There is a famous French play "Waiting for Godo", which I once played one of the parts in an acting group.  "What are we waiting for?", "Waiting for Godo", "Would you like a radish? or a carrot?"

Waiting and Waiting, and I have just scratched the surface.   This is not complete, I will add more later.  Please wait for more latter.
