Stratosphere Hotel Casino: this page started 9/27/08, more to be added later
"Sky Jump" at Stratosphere: People pay ($99.99 Aug 2010) then are put in a jump suit and harness, are taken up to the top of the Stratosphere Tower is around 1,149 feet (350.2 m) tall, then they are attached to a guide wire, and safely "free fall" (?) at 40 mph around 829 ft (253 m), and at the last second, the guide wire slows their fall (many land on their feet). There is also 2 guide wires to the sides, and one videos the persons fall (extra fee), etc. The Sky Jump is located on the 2nd floor of the Stratosphere, in the Shopping Mall, were you can stroll in and watch the DVD follow along side the jumpers as they fall (photo below, jumper with camera to lower left, you can see it live on the Video screen, and thru the back door window see the jumper land, your watching it live on the screen (2 sec delay). I would not attempt this kind of thing myself; but the place is packed, very popular. I can imagine, some weary guy at 12:30 AM (Pacific time, or 3:30 AM Eastern time) at the top of the Tower, saying "How did I get into this?"). I would spring for the $129.99 Jump, DVD, and Photo package deal, except I dont do that kind of thing. http://www.skyjumplasvegas.com/
